1. Who we are
Delivery Thambi is a local food and essentials delivery service operating in Jayankondam, Tamil Nadu, India. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Delivery Thambi. "You" refers to anyone who uses our app or website.

2. Information we collect
We only collect what we need to take your order and get it to your door.

What we do not collect
- We do not collect your GPS or precise location. The app has no map or location tracking. Delivery is based on the address you type in.
- We do not store card numbers, UPI PINs, bank details or any payment credentials. See section 4.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, call logs or SMS messages.
- We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
3. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and keep you signed in.
- To process, assign, deliver and track your orders.
- To send you notifications about your order, such as when it has been confirmed, picked up, or is arriving soon.
- To let our delivery partner and the restaurant fulfil your order. They see only what is necessary: your name, address, phone number, order contents and any delivery instructions you have written.
- To respond to complaints and provide customer support.
- To keep records required for accounting and to prevent misuse of the service.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
4. Payments
Payment is made directly to the delivery partner at the time of delivery, either in cash or by scanning a UPI QR code. When you pay by UPI, the transaction happens entirely inside your own UPI app, between your bank and ours.
Delivery Thambi never sees, receives or stores your UPI PIN, card number, CVV, bank login or any other payment credential. We record only whether an order was paid, the amount, and the method (cash or UPI).
5. Who we share information with
We share the minimum necessary with:
- Our delivery partners - your name, delivery address, phone number, order items and delivery instructions, so they can complete the delivery.
- Partner restaurants and shops - the items ordered and, where needed, the customer name, so they can prepare the order.
- Our hosting and SMS providers - who process data on our behalf in order to run the website, the app and the OTP messages.
- Authorities - only where we are required to do so by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or the safety of others.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account details for as long as your account is active. Order records are retained for as long as needed for support, accounting and legal obligations. One-time passwords are short-lived and expire shortly after they are issued. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal details except where we are legally required to keep transaction records.
7. How we protect your information
- Our website and app are served over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
- Access to customer data in our admin system is restricted to authorised staff and protected by individual login credentials.
- Delivery partners have their own separate logins and can see only the orders assigned to them.
- Passwords are stored using one-way cryptographic hashing and are never stored as readable text.
No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take reasonable steps appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold.
8. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction - you can view and edit your name, email and saved addresses at any time from the Profile section of the app.
- Deletion - you can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data by contacting us on the numbers in section 1. We will action reasonable requests within 30 days.
- Notifications - order alerts can be turned off in your device settings.
- Withdrawing consent - you may stop using the service and request deletion at any time. Note that we cannot deliver an order without a name, phone number and address.
9. Cookies and local storage
The app and website store a small amount of data on your own device, such as your login token, your shopping cart, and your filter preferences. This exists so that you stay signed in and do not lose your cart between visits. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Clearing your browser or app storage removes this data and signs you out.
10. Children
Our service is intended for use by adults who are able to place and pay for an order. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add a new feature. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we will make it clear inside the app.
